Pub. Fees (APC)
All articles published in AJHSE are open access and freely available online, immediately upon publication, this is made possible by an article-processing charge (APC) that covers the range of publishing expenses. These includes provision of online tools for editors and authors, article production and hosting, liaison with abstracting and indexing services, and customer services. To support its open access publication, African Journal of Health, Safety and Environment (AJHSE) therefore requests authors to support the publication and sustainability of the journal by paying an article-processing charge (APC) for each article editorially accepted for publication. The fee may be charged to either you (author), or your funder, institution or employer.
AJHSE APC Fees:
Nigerian Authors: N21,500 (VAT Inclusive)
Reviewer's fee (non-refundable) = N3,000 upon submission
Publication fee = N18,500 upon acceptance.
Other Authors: $100 (VAT Inclusive)
Authors from other countries are to deposit the full fee ($100) or a part payment ($10) upon submission.
AJHSE APC Waivers:
AJHSE routinely waive part of the APC for authors from low-income countries as classified by World Bank.
A number of special waivers for article-processing charges are also available at the editor's discretion, and authors wishing to apply for these waivers should contact the editor. An Internal Waiver Program is also available for authors with affiliation to the institution in connection with the Journal.
In addition, AJHSE offers full waivers for outstanding and innovative research articles by African Authors. The criterial for selecting and identifying such articles to a large extent depends on the judgment of AJHSE Non-African International Editorial Board Members.
Lastly, AJHSE offers waivers to members of its editorial board who wish to submit their contribution to the journal after such articles has undergone the usual review and editorial rigour and found acceptable for publication by other members of the editorial board and Chief editor.
50% of all APCs received by the African Journal of Health, Safety and Environment is put into the funding of AJHSE Annual Conferences. This is to ensure a well organised and subsidised African Conference.
